Superintendent

It is my sincere privilege to serve as Tehama County’s Superintendent of Schools. As a product of local schools and someone who has dedicated more than 20 years to serving as an educator in this county, I know firsthand that we live in a special place where amazing things consistently happen for students.
This level of service is only possible because of the educators, families, board members, and community partners who invest in our students every day. To each of you, thank you! It is a profound honor to serve alongside such passionate professionals and families who consistently demonstrate the integrity and dedication our students deserve.
At the Tehama County Department of Education, we are committed to strengthening educational systems by supporting schools, operating specialized programs, and engaging families in meaningful partnerships. Grounded in our core values of service, commitment, opportunity, relationships, and ethics, our “Student Success Playbook” guides our work to ensure every learner in Tehama County has access to high-quality instruction, meaningful opportunities, and the support needed to reach their full potential.
This year, we are sharpening our focus on improving student outcomes, while also recognizing that true success extends far beyond test scores. We remain committed to a standard that ensures every student not only masters essential skills but also thrives as a capable, resilient individual ready for their future. Working alongside our district and community partners, we will continue learning from one another and focusing on the long-term success of every student we serve.
Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in the work of the Tehama County Department of Education. We look forward to continued collaboration throughout the 2026-27 school year as we maintain our shared commitment to preparing every student to succeed in school, career, and life.
With Gratitude,
Jared Caylor
