Betty Brown

Betty Brown was born in Tehama County. Her brother and parents were also born in Tehama County with her grandfather arriving in 1869.
Betty graduated from Corning High School and Chico State with a BA Degree and a General Elementary Credential. She taught five years in Butte County and 33 years in Tehama County.
Over the years Betty has been active in different groups: Tehama County Reading Council; Children's Fair; Writing Contest; Literary Festival; Tehama County Learning Center Board; Tehama County Concert Series; Girl Scout Leader; AAUW; Tehama County Red Hat Society; Order of Eastern Star; Tehama County Shrine Ladies; Delta Kappa Gamma International at the local area, and state levels; and the Retired Teachers Association. Her family is a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Betty and her husband, Richard, have been married for 53 years and have three daughters and three grandchildren. In their spare time they enjoy spending time with their family, traveling, and reading.
