The S.E.R.R.F. After School Program
S.E.R.R.F. - Safe Education and Recreation for Rural Families. A partnership including Antelope, Bend, Berrendos, Bidwell, Elkins, Evergreen Elementary, Evergreen Middle, Flournoy, Gerber, Jackson Heights, Kirkwood, Lassen View, Los Molinos, Manton, Maywood, William M. Metteer, Mineral, Olive View, Plum Valley, Rancho Tehama, Reeds Creek, Richfield, Sacramento River Discovery Charter, Vina, Vista, West Street, and Woodson schools and the Tehama County Department of Education.
In September of 1999, the Tehama County Department of Education initiated an innovative after school program to address the needs of students and families in the critical hours between school release time and 6:00 P.M. The program approaches students as valuable resources to be developed. Currently serving 26 school sites, it has grown to serve over 1,500 students.
